I am not a very young person. I am a person who has been through some serious life experiences. I have learned, that I can only be me. When I saw the video, I cried. I get emotional when I think of it because, there was a scene when her mate took the menu and ordered for her. I let him control every aspect of my life including having say with my own mother and father. I isolated myself from the world. Even my dear friends wondered what happen to me and my assertion! My self esteem was low. Eventually, I broke away, move to another state with my kids. I stayed there for two years, and decided to go back and face my issues head on, which was him. I did it!!! I knew I had to face him because of our children and I had the attitude of THIS IS ME, TAKE ME AS I AM, OR NOTHING AT ALL!!!! that is why the song touched me. I will forever be a fan and I hope you win a grammy for this girl. Keep making music that touches the heart. I can't stand those tiny bopper songs, yelling and screaming about nothing, lack of substance.Crazy sound effects like alarms ringing in their music. That is music that not last forever. Your music will be like the classics that are still played today.

I have been a fan of Mary J Blige on & off since she hit the scene. There have been several songs that just hit you and grab your heart. TAKE ME AS I AM has is definetly at the top of my list. The video, the music, the lyrics have grammy written all over it. Since Mary's return everything that she has put out definetly says "Diva". This song has grabbed my heart and is an inspiration to my life as well as others I am sure. This song is so transparent and I believe says a lot about Mary herself. Through her trials and tribulations she has surely been blessed. I am so happy that she has hung in there, stayed true to who she is and where she comes from. MARY, I TAKE YOU AS YOU ARE. You definetly have won me over with this song, video and you just being you. God Bless.

All I can say is she "does it again". with this new video mary has reached hieghts in her career. I really see the breakthrough. Coming from "whats the 411?" to this album she's grown so much and has been able to share her talent through it all. I pray this isnt the end for her. I kinda get that idea when I see this video. I just wanted to say to Mrs Mary J. I've been a fan of your since what's the 411 came out. I was around 9 years old when it came out but still I was and still am your biggest fan. I just want to express how your music has help so much in understanding life and helping me understand who I am and who I can become. I know that I may never met you and that you may never get this but I just want to say to you think you for being the type of person you are and think you for putting out such grate music. I just want you to know that ever cd you've ever came out with.
