I love love love this song and have made it my "theme song" for life. Its amazing and even my 5 yr old has it memorized word for word. I love all your music and I know no matter what I have going on in life one of your songs will be able to help me have a new perspective of it, a positive one. There is a song that I have heard by you but can't find it anywhere to get the lyrics, says something about "Show girl" starts out saying "its Mary J, she's back" or something, but I can't find it online, but I have heard it. Mary I am not sure if you read these comments or not but I wanted t tell you how much I love the new CD. I have been a fan since 411 and I do have everything you have ever put out from the CD's to the mix tapes and all that. I have all your music but I can honestly say that at one point I could not listen to it because it was very depressing for me. It feels like when you were going through so was I and I could not take all the sad and depressing sounds. Now with the Breakthrough I can say that this CD has not left my car since I purchased it. I love this CD. My daughter also loves the CD. She is into rap music so she loves Hate It or Love It. Great job Mary. You are blessed. I can not wait to see you in VA in August. I've been a fan since "411." As mentioned in the other posts, you have grown tremendously. (so have I) I borrowed this cd from my sister and was cleaning up, when I heard this track, I stopped in my tracks and cried. This is so me. I'm currently engaged to a wonderful man that grew up with both parents. I on the other hand did not have a father (present in the home). Everything I learned, I learned from single women. I played this song for my fiance because it explains me and the reasons why I respond as I do. I don't know if you wrote this song or not, but let me tell you. Every female growing up or that has grown up without a father in the home needs to hear this song. You really dug deep and put words to something that I've struggled with. Thanks!
